A local artist you say....
Yes, that's right today is the day that I can take on that name.
Today {Wrote post yesterday, publishing today} January 7, 2014 I dropped off 6 of my "Passthrough" bag patterns to a local quilt shop in Old Colorado City.

A few months back I called a bunch of local stores to see if they needed sewing instructors (thinking I could get out in the evenings and make some extra $$) in this new (no babies) season of life.
Mary Beth at Nana's Quilt cottage encouraged me to come by her shop and show her some of my work and we could go from there. I came by with a basket full of odds and ends projects from over the years and also cloths that I had made the girls with fresh stains on them. (naturally I didn't get them washed before bringing them over). Mary Beth was very encouraging and even encouraged me to make a pattern for my un-named bag at the time. "A pattern!!??" I responded with! I mean that is a whole different ball game, "I'm just a beginner", I don't think I can do that; were the thoughts flooding through my mind. She continued to tell me how easy it was and that I could do it. I left that day excited that she gave me her time but so overwhelmed.
This is when Jessica Hamilton comes into my life, the perfect person at the perfect time. She has been right by my side encouraging me every step of the way, from typing my first words, late night, trial and error, many typing corrections and editing. It has been a really fun journey and Jessica has started a little business of her own, which I will blog about in a few weeks.
So, it has taken a few months but today I handed off the pattern and saw it all displayed in her shop!!
The "Passthrough" pattern includes
- 4 Pattern pieces
- Detailed written instructions
- Along with each step are pictures like a tutorial to help you along the way.
