Using lots of favorites to make a shirt for My daughter.

I just had to share with you about all the things that came together to make this shirt. First I used this free pattern: climbing the willow It was my second time testing out the Izzy pattern and I would say that it for sure runs a size bigger. For my almost 4 year old in this picture I used the 2t pattern pieces. In case you haven't noticed from my instagram and FB I like mustard yellow just a smidge ;) and I found this corduroy fabric a few weeks back at a local thrift store and "had" to buy it!! I love the quality of this corduroy fabric!
I also made a shirt for myself a while back out of this bird print which is another thing like I like "birds" I know just put a bird on it https://youtu.be/iHmLljk2t8M
I also used some re fashioned leather suspender straps. We have been doing quite a bit of purging lately and my husband was getting rid of work shirts and some suspender straps and I just loved the leather on the end of them and knew I wanted to used them for something at some point. This closure was the perfect spot!
I finished it off with another combination that I am fond of these days good old black and white stripes. I found these buttons at Hobby Lobby and they were a "must" buy!
I had fun with my little girl in taking these photos, she is just growing up too fast!!
Thank you for following sew4the1 :)

Baby doll front carrier

I saw this on Pinterest a few weeks ago and knew that I needed to make this for my youngest for Christmas. With the weeks approaching quicker than I like to admit yesterday I sat down to tackle this tutorial. Thinking it was going to take me a few hours, but to my surprise it was a fairly quick project. Here is the tutorial I used: sewblissI also traced my template a little wider adding about 1" all the way around.
I also have a few things that I would change to make it adjustable and kid friendly.
I may just have to make another one for fun!! She is blindfolded in the pictures because I didn't want her to see her Christmas present. But that didn't work she was curious as to what was on her and REALLY, REALLY wanted to see it so after the pictures I gave in and she LOVES it!!
This would also be a great gift for a little girl/boy who was expecting a new baby into their family. Please contact me for special orders.

Sew4the1 in Craft Scraps Denver CO

Craft Scraps is a very cute store located in Denver ,Colorado.
I love to go in there and find sewing notions, fabrics, zippers, buttons, you name it all for GREAT prices.
They also carry stampin' Up sets, paper, embroidery, leather making, anything crafting they have it!!
The ladies that own the shop are so kind.
I find myself in their store whenever I go up to Denver, one of their daughters has even purchased a Stacegan bag and clutch from me.
I was so honored a few weeks back to recieve a message from Michelle asking if I would be interested in making some items for them to sell in their shop! She said that around the holidays people come into their shop and are looking for crafts already completed to buy as gifts.
I was so excited and totally honored!!
I plan to make these tooth pouches and kids aprons with coordinating mittens and hot pads.
I am whipped up a few of these tooth pouches and wanted to share them with you guys!
These were really fun to make, I used this pattern for the pouches from Curby's Closet.

The Viewfinder Tee for Numa

I made Baily and Madisyn Frozen garments this weekend.
I was home and wasn't feeling well, and wanted to do something different so that means try another shot at making clothes.
I has bought this pattern a while back and it is been on my to do list of attempting for a while so I gave it a shot.
See Kate Sew (such a cute blogger a lady) PATTERN
I thought I would start with Baily since we were home alone together and she could be apart of the making process!
She picked out her fabrics, traced and cut out her pattern pieces. She even sewed up some of the top, but silk is a hard one to work with ;)
I didn't follow the pattern all the way I made a few changes- I wanted the sleeves to be a little more fun so I did this style and also the neckline seemed to be very large so I gathered it before adding the neckline finish. I really like the style of this top how it is high/low.

I also made something for Madisyn she picked out OLAF fabric which is so fitting for her fun little personality!! lol
Baily wanted to do a dress but I wasn't sure about trying that out as a first attempt of the pattern so I tried it on Madisyn.
I got a little carried away with her's because in my accessories bin I found this puff ball trimming and it was just too fitting with the print to not use.
I wanted to do the sleeves that the pattern had because I feel this is an area that I need more practice in.
I gave it an attempt and I was just not happy with them, I altered them by taking the sleeve in a little on the bottom to give it an angled look.
I am glad that Madisyn likes the dress!

After giving a pattern I know is successful (just not with me) a two attempt try, I think I am ready to take some intro to garment making classes. I think making clothes is really fun but not so fun when in my opinion they don't come out right.

I am excited to learn and to master garment making.
Thanks for reading my journey.
