I wanted to share a little trick with you that I used today.
I mostly sew with white thread and and a white bobbin, I think it is pretty neutral and in most cases I just switch out the thread on top instead of switching out my bobbin if I need to top stitch in a different color.
But when it comes to sewing on black fabric the white bobbin will show through.
So here is my little trick:
1. In the first picture you see black thread on the top and white thread wound in the bobbin.
2. Picture is how the stitching looks on black fabric when using a white bobbin. You can see the white thread. :(
3. Here is the magic tool, a sharpie!! You can use a fine point one or a thicker one and lightly stroke the pen over the white thread. The thread will absorb the black ink.
4. There you have it!! No more white showing through.
Let's face it changing around the bobbin and thread is not my most favorite part.
I hope you find this trick helpful as we'll.
Happy sewing.
